Raag-Rung offers free preliminary coaching in Indian classical vocal music and playing harmonium and tabla to those interested.

Fundraising Dinner-Concert Evenings

In addition to the world-class classical music and dance concerts, Raag-Rung organizes an annual Fundraising Evening of Fabulous Food and Marvelous Music and Dance in the autumn. Patrons are treated to East Indian cuisine prepared by some of Canada’s exceptional Subcontinental chefs, and world-class entertainment provided by internationally-acclaimed and legendary artists from India and Canada. All funds raised stay in Thunder Bay as they are dedicated to student scholarships and bursaries at Lakehead University and Confederation College to help students in perpetuity and to Thunder Bay Symphony Orchestra. In previous concerts, Raag-Rung has arranged for the presentation of five of the six popular classical dances, along with performances of several exotic and rare Indian musical instruments and Indigenous and Indian Folk dances by artists from Saskatchewan and Ontario. Raag-Rung continues to search for the finest in East Indian Classical Music talent from across the world.
